Anna + Robert

There are weddings, and then there are WEDDINGS- the kind that make you rethink everything you thought a wedding could be. The kind that pull together personal vibes, some serious backyard creativity, and a dash of northern pines magic. This was that wedding, and we were lucky enough to be right in the middle of the action—camera in hand, tunes blasting, and the video rolling.

This wasn't your typical "say your vows, take a few pics, call it a night" kind of event. Nope. It was an all-out celebration spanning the weekend. Picture this: family-built furniture, floral arrangements done with love, signature details that made every corner of the event pop with personality and everything local with all their unique details. The bride’s family went all-in, and trust us, it showed.

We kicked off capturing all of this magic with a special first look on a causeway, a one way road that gets you out to their own island-peninsula! That alone was cinematic enough to stop you in your tracks, but then came the ceremony.

Oh, did we mention the rain? Yeah, after a three-hour delay, the skies finally cleared just in time for ceremony at dusk. Nestled under towering northern pines in their own backyard with the bride arriving by boat, the crowd cheered as she made her way from the lake to the aisle. The vibe was unreal as the couple exchanged vows beneath trees that had been standing for generations. The cheers were audible from the other side of the lake!

Now, here's where it gets next level. I know you thought we were already there. The rain didn't just stop the party—it made the party. The backyard turned into a splattered playground, and everyone was READY. Guests arrived in gym shoes and rain gear like they knew it was all part of the plan. We followed the muddy paths with cameras in tow, shooting the spontaneous, the raw, and the real. And as if that wasn't enough, the northern lights showed up. Yeah, the actual aurora borealis—lighting up the sky for the guests walking home down the causeway.

Talk About That Dance Floor...
The dance floor was literally bouncy. Yes, you read that right. A custom-built, bouncing dance floor that made every move feel like a dance-off at the coolest wedding ever. As the DJ, we threw down a killer set that had the floor rocking (literally) with people dancing underneath umbrella props that added a quirky, fun vibe. And just when we thought the energy was at its peak, the groom hit us with a surprise performance of his favorite song, Castle on the Hill by Ed Sheeran. Mic in hand, crowd cheering—it was a moment.

A Weekend to Remember
The wedding weekend was jam-packed with unique moments: a golf tournament honoring the bride and groom's grandfathers, a rehearsal dinner shrimp boil, and a wild ride through the mud to catch buses after the party ended. Guests didn’t just experience the wedding; they became a part of the story. For us, capturing the insane vibe, the intimate family exchanges, and all the wild, muddy moments was an experience we'll be talking about for years. From behind the lens, we caught the magic of not just a wedding, but a full-on celebration of love, family, and fun. I left wanting to be everyone's friend!

So here's to more epic weddings like this— where tradition meets personality, and rain becomes part of the adventure. Until next time, we'll be cleaning the mud off our gear... and maybe playing back the groom's mic-drop moment one more time.
