As a wedding photographer, the moments I capture are often defined by the energy and love radiating from the couple and their guests. My first impression of Devon and Matt was one of genuine zest for life and a deep commitment to the relationships surrounding them. This was evident even before the wedding day, during the delightful boat cruise on Lake Minnetonka that kicked off the wedding weekend.












Devon and Matt live in Texas, but Devon always envisioned her wedding in her grandmother's backyard in Minnetonka. This setting transformed into a backdrop of backyard luxury, infused with the romance reminiscent of The Notebook. The couple even took a charming boat ride between the ceremony and reception, adding to the whimsical nature of their day.














The emotional moments of the day were truly touching. One that stood out was when Devon gave a heartfelt speech to Matt's two daughters. This gesture beautifully illustrated the bond they were forming as a blended family. Later, as the couple shared a quiet moment watching fireworks light up the sky, the intimacy of their connection was palpable.

The wedding ceremony took place right by the water, a stunning location that provided an incredible backdrop. I was particularly thrilled to capture their first dance, which featured an unexpected flip—an exhilarating surprise that reflected their playful spirit!










The details of the wedding were elegantly executed. The clear-top tent was a new favorite for me, perfectly suited for a midsummer celebration. Combined with white florals, blue accents, a live painter, and vintage furniture, the backyard was transformed into a breathtaking scene.
